Halo-Halo

Halo-Halo (mix-mix in Tagalog) is an ongoing project that attempts to examine the lives of mixed Filipino-Americans. It seeks to find out the many questions that this community has had to grapple with, while showing the deep history of Filipinos in the U.S. 

 

It’s a long-term project that can be broken down into smaller stories, such as:

- Why is it important to create safe spaces for mixed or multiracial people to understand and embrace their identity?

- What kind of discrimination do they face, if any? How do they respond to it? Are there organizations making sure instances like it are reduced?

- What traditions have been made and passed down in mixed Filipino-American homes?
